ABOUT US
KIDS CHURCH IN THE PARK’s purpose is to bring hope, love and help to the children of Tangipahoa Parish through education, character development, mentoring and the love of Jesus Christ.
This Christmas, Kids Church in the Park is raising money to buy 315 jackets for the children of O. W. Dillon Leadership Academy. This will provide each student a new jacket.
The Kentwood community has a poverty rate of 64%, but the students attending the elementary school represent a 98%poverty rate.
This year the Tangipahoa Parish School Board has adopted the policy that jackets can no longer have hoods and must be in one of the three approved colors assigned to the school…in this case white, purple or navy. This new rule potentially eliminates hand-me-downs and previously allowed coats. By giving every child a jacket, no one is pointed out, yet everyone is blessed! This is such a great opportunity to impact a child, a family, the school and the community of Kentwood!
Please consider participating in our Coats for Kentwood campaign. We are asking for a $35.00 donation to cover the cost of a jacket, shipping, a gift bag and hopefully a stocking filled with a few fun things. Of course, any donation in any amount will help and is greatly appreciated.
We will be collecting donations from now until November 21st. Please go to our website, KidsChurchinthePark.com, if you would like to make the season merry and warm for a child.
You may also send a check made out to
